Then they seem to fall off the face of the earth.
They stop responding to your emails, leavin’ you high and dry.
When communication stops cold like this, it can be tricky to know how to follow up effectively.
We don’t want to seem too pushy (or desperate), right?
After years of testing different follow-up strategies, I found a simple 1-sentence email that works like MAGIC.
You can use it to reconnect with anyone who seemed interested in what you have to offer—before they suddenly weren’t.
Here’s the email:
Hey [INSERT CLIENT’S NAME HERE],
Are you still looking for [INSERT PRODUCT OR SERVICE HERE]?
[INSERT YOUR NAME HERE]
Although I’ve never actually done the math, I’d guesstimate that this email gets me an 80% response rate.
Why? It’s clear, short, and direct.
It gets right to the point.
Most of the time, the response is a big ol’, “YES, PLEASE HELP ME!!!”
But even if the person is no longer interested, they’re more likely to reply and let you know since you’ve taken the time out to follow up with them personally.
